Meet Bogus. He is a bulldog mixed pup that came to the Humane Society in May. Like most dogs of this breed, they have a terrible time with mange. Bogus came to us in a complete disarray. He had hardly any hair and a pessimistic attitude on life. It took several weeks of treatments and special baths before we were able to set Bogus up for adoption.

Like so many other animlas adopted through our shelter, he has now found a family of his own and is living a healthy life.

This is a very special story about two cats that have taken up residence at the Humane Society. Meet Cassie and Lizzie.

They are two persian cats that were literally thrown over our fence, infested with fleas, and nearly starved. It has been a long road to recovery for these two animals. We had to shave them down to deflea them and spend hours monitoring every movement they made.

Considering the poor conditions these animals were found in, they are very lucky to be alive. And they are also lucky in that they have both found a caring home!!

Say hi to Petey and MJ. These two dogs were treated for heartworms here in our faciltiy. One thing that we try to do is insure the health of every animal being admitted into and leaving our faciltiy.

Treating animals, especially older dogs, for heartworms can be very risky. This is a difficult process for the animals to have to go through.

It takes alot of nurturing and constant follow up to put these animals at ease while they are given these treatments.

Petey is now up for adoption. MJ, a beautiful White English Bulldog, has been adopted!

Here is a story for the record book! They are called Barbara and Jo. Two female black Labrador dogs. These dogs came to our shelter at three months of age. Both have been adopted at different times by different families and both have been returned.

These two are terrified of people. Know one knows the answer why. Sometimes those answers are better left unsaid.

Want to know something funny? No matter how terrified they appear to be of people, if they interact with other animals, are seen alone together, or are at home with our Vet Tech and her dogs, they are just as playful as any other animal here at the Society. That is right. You would have never guessed that they might be slightly frightened of people and other things.

It will take someone very patient and dedicated to restoring the health of these two animals. If you are interested, please stop by and visit with them.

Our animals are very important to us and we do our very best to make them feel comfortable. Volunteer your lesuire time to the Humane Society. That time can be used to help animals like Barabara and Jo.
