Sherrie's Food Bank Program

Sherrie's Food Bank program is a distribution service designed to work through the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia in providing aid to pet friendly families. The need for a pet food bank has become increasingly clear over the past year. Natalie Murrah, Shelter Director states, “More and more pet owners are finding it necessary to turn in their beloved pets to a shelter due to economic hardships. We feel that if free pet food were available in such situations, that many sad cases can be prevented.” Those needing the assistance of the pet bank are encouraged to call the shelter at 912-264-1191 prior to applying for the program as the inventory of available food is built.

The Humane Society needs your help in continuing to provide these families with the resources they need. Drop off your donations of cat and dog food at the society today or leave your donation at one of our convenient collection site locations across the Golden Isles: Publix, Harvey's Supermarket, Winn-Dixie on St. Simons Island, Pet Exchange on St. Simons Island, and Harris Teeter.
